Each and every time I visit my friends and family I take along my wireless equipped PC all the while scanning for unsecured routers. I am not longer surprised by the number of unsecured routers I find on my journeys. What I do for my friends and family turn off the broadcasting and create a wireless list of filtered MAC addresses.
This stops the average Joe from seeing your network and if the advanced user does see your router he will need to be added to the MAC address wireless filter section. Great article it got me to add my 2 cents.
