Here are some important and most frequently asked questions that you should know about before you start working with us. If there’s anything you’re not clear about make sure to say so in your email.



Q. How long should my articles be?

A. It really depends on your topic, but roughly 1,000 words.

Q. Can I republish some of my previously written work on TST?

A. No. We’re only interested in original articles. Please do not submit an article that has already been published somewhere else, it will not be published again on TST.

Q. Who is my audience?

A. Your audience includes technical, experienced IT professionals and novices, people who are just getting into the IT field.

Q. What types of articles should I concentrate on?

A. How-to or instructional articles are always welcome along with certification related information or important technical news or findings. But please, do not state the obvious; there are plenty of articles that cover features, simple configurations and updates.

Q. What format should I submit my article in?

A. You can submit your article in Word or basic html (no styles). All images and screenshots should be enclosed in a zip file.

Q. How do I pick an appropriate subject for my article?

A. Choose 2 - 3 topics that are interesting to you and send them over to us. Include 2 - 3 sentences briefly describing what you plan on covering. We’ll make sure the topic you chose hasn’t already been covered and that it will be beneficial to our readers.

Q. Do you have any due dates or deadlines?

A. We do, but they’re flexible. We work with each writer on an individual basis.

Q. Do I need to include images in my articles?

A. Screenshots and diagrams are encouraged especially for articles that provide step-by-step instructions. Please DO NOT include images you don’t have rights to.

Q. Are you going to edit my articles?

A. We reserve the right to edit your work and occasionally we may do that. But don’t worry we’ll tell you what we’re editing and why.

Q. Am I required to submit my photo?

A. Yes! As you can tell from our blog, all of our articles are published with the author’s photo.
