Hi! I started to watch the Comptia A+ Essentials 2006 videos yesterday, but now i can’t find it. What happened with that tutorial?
Kasia Grabowska Says:

Hi Jeff,
The CompTIA A+ 2006 exam has been officially retired (and replaced with A+ 2009) so we removed the link from our website because it is no longer certification preparation material.
You can still watch the videos, just keep in mind that they’re a bit outdated now and you will need additional training resources for the updated 2009 exam.
Here’s the link: http://www.trainsignaltraining.com/free-video-training/comptia-a-training-videos/
Enjoy!

Kasia Grabowska Says:
April 5th, 2010 at 11:05 am
Hi Leo,
We do have some Windows Server 2003 training that will help you prepare for your MCSE exams:
- Server 2003 Network Infrastructure Training (exam 70-291 and 70-293): http://www.trainsignal.com/Windows-Server-2003-Network-Infrastructure-Training-P16.aspx
- Server 2003 Active Directory Training (exam 70-294): http://www.trainsignal.com/Windows-Server-2003-Active-Directory-Training-P15.aspx
- Windows Server 2003 Security Training (exam 70-298): http://www.trainsignal.com/Windows-Server-2003-Security-Training-P17.aspx
The required exams for the Server 2003 MSCE include:
- 70-291
- 70-293
- 70-294
- 70-290 — which is the only one we do not have training for
Exam 70-298 can count towards either your elective exam or your design exam.
Other than that, you will also need to pass one OS configuring exam, either on Vista (Exam 70-620) or Windows 7 (Exam 70-680). Our Vista training is available here: http://www.trainsignal.com/Windows-Vista-Training-P21.aspx and our Windows 7 training will be available in June.
More info about the MCSE requirements: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/mcse.aspx#tab2
Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck with your studies!

Kasia Grabowska Says:
April 29th, 2010 at 10:51 am
Hi Laith,
The CompTIA exams coded with JK are the E2C (Education to Careers) versions of exams. However, there is no difference in exam content between the N10-004 and JK0-016 exam codes, they both represent the same CompTIA Network+ 2009 exam.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Kasia,
To gain the Certificate we have to take both exam or Just the N10-004 as i check the CompTIA Web side they mention both exams ?
Thanks
Kasia Grabowska Says:
April 30th, 2010 at 7:43 am
No, you don’t have to take both… only 1 exam is required for the Network+ cert. If you’re part of CompTIA’s E2C program then you can register for the JK0-016 exam, otherwise you take the N10-004 exam.
In either case, you take only 1 Network+ exam to get certified.

Thanks Kasia,
I have last question regarding the compTIA Network+ 2009, I check the training contains, there is something important missing especially the Network Data Storage and Network Operating Systems, Voice Over Data Systems, Protect Network Traffic with IP Security (IPsec), Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI) Networks ….etc
Why those are not covered ?

Hi Laith,
Thanks for your questions — feel free to ask as many as you need :)
I just talked to Ed Liberman, the instructor for our Network+ 2009 training and although he can’t remember exactly, because it’s been a while since he completed this course, here’s where he thinks you’ll be able to find these topics:
- IPsec in Video 17 on Network Security
- FDDI in Video 4 on Network Topologies
- VoIP in Video 7 on TCP/IP Protocols
As far as Network Data Storage and Network Operating Systems are concerned, only a brief mention of these topics is presented in the course.
If you’re asking these questions because you’re interested in getting certified, I do want to point out that our Network+ 2009 training does cover all of the required exam objectives (and much more!) and has been reviewed and approved by CompTIA Authorized Quality Curriculum (CAQC). We are a CompTIA member which means that we are required to have our training courses reviewed by CompTIA — and our Network+ 2009 training did receive approval from CompTIA.
I hope this answers your question, if you have more feel free to post them!

Hi,
Amazing video’s. They help build good technical skills even for a pro. Everyone can learn something or the other. The fact with your Tut’s is it is extensive and in-depth which gives real techie understanding of the subject.
The Problem is too much of a speech sometimes which might be good for Newbie’s but not for Professional’s cause every minute counts sometimes.
My Que for you.
1) Are you planning to produce Altiris video Tut’s ? If not product specific any idea’s of covering topics like HII , Deployment solutions and PXE servers?
2) Netback v6.5 and Symantec BE2010 (Windows / Unix) : Any plannings for the Video tutorial on both or any one of them.
Thanks

Hi Parag,
Thanks so much for your feedback, we really appreciate it. And you’re absolutely right, it’s very difficult to strike the right balance in teaching beginners and experienced IT professionals. We stay on the side of caution and try to be as comprehensive as possible, but I know what you mean.
As for your questions, I’m sorry to say that none of the technologies you mentioned are in our plans for this year. However, I will forward your suggestions to our product development team and maybe we’ll see some of these titles come out next year.
Thanks again for your comments and please feel free to contact us with any other questions.
Best!

Hi Junie,
Our CompTIA A+ training is currently in production and should be available in September. I’m not 100% sure on the pricing since the course hasn’t been completed yet, but my best guess would be $297 which is what our current Network+ and Security+ courses are priced at.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Please help ,,,,,,,,,
Thanks
Kasia Lorenc Says:
August 25th, 2010 at 4:02 pm
Hi Laith,
That is an excellent question!
The CompTIA Project+ certification is an entry level cert for candidates who want to break into the project management field. If you have little project management knowledge and experience, the Project+ is a good place to start as it covers the entire project life cycle and helps you understand the key project management areas. The Project+ can also be obtained in a reasonable amount of time and effort.
Here’s more info on the Project+ cert: http://www.trainsignaltraining.com/project-plus-certification-a-must-have/2010-08-18/
The PMP, on the other hand, is much more in demand (which is why you see many job boards listing it) but it’s also much more difficult to get. You need to have at least 5 years and 7,500 hours of project management experience + 35 hours of approved project management education OR a 4 year college degree and 3 years and 4,500 hours of project management experience + 35 hours of approved project management education.
Here’s an article that will help you understand the PMP certification and its requirements better: http://www.trainsignaltraining.com/pmp-certification/2010-02-08/
So if you’re just getting into the project management field, the Project+ might be a good choice as it will help you master the fundamentals of project management and help you get some experience. If you have the minimum requirements for the PMP then I would suggest that you go for it, it’s definitely a higher cert of the two.
Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck with your studies!
