What about SQL (Database Administration)? You didn't say anything about this. Oh, and Oracle as well.

Can a Helpdesk tier 1 move up to become a SQL administrator?

Shawn-

I often take a very hardline in security when I was in the system positions so I always felt that they need to be integrated, but I will see if I can put together some information for those that want to go down that path. Security guys usually have a good background in sytems so I feel it would be more of a next step in a career for an administrator or engineer.

I will definitely put this on my research list for articles.

Thanks,
Dave

I would like you to cover some information on Network Security as a career path and some ideas on how to get started down that path, thanks.
