I have an AS in Electronics, BS in Engineering Technology Electronics and experience in Applications Engineering and Systems integration. I want to get some certs to make myself more marketable and since IT is a growing field I though as an entry I could obtain a A+ and MCSA.

Could I get work? any suggestions greatly appreciated.

MCSE Angie - It really depends on what work you are doing today and what work you want to do tomorrow.

If you're into programming today and want to get into server administration I wouldn't suggest Security+ at first blush.

If you want to give me a few more details I could probably give you a little better suggestion

Matt Gibson - sorry for the delayed response; I didn't see your post until now. I would suggest that if you're already started on 70-291 and more than 50% of the way through that you go ahead and finish it out to see how you do with it and then reassess at that point.

If you're less than that and / or really struggling then I might make the suggestion to stop where you are and decide to look to do one or more of these.

Great information and post! I am new to the IT world, and am currently working on my MCSA 70-291 exam.

In your opinion, do you think it would be better to study these instead, or to continue with the MCSA certification?
