Train Signal Training -- Sweet Friday Link LoveLast week I talked about career tips for IT professionals and listed some great resources for IT job interviews, resume building, and how to build your career in the IT field during a recession.

This week I want to share a few great resources for IT exam and certification information. After all, passing your exams and getting certified is crucial to a successful career in IT.

 

IT Exam & Certification Resources

I’m going to start with a shameless plug and tell you about our Certification 101 page first. It’s a great place to start if you’re just getting into the IT field or want to learn the basics about CompTIA, Cisco and Microsoft certifications.

The Certification 101 section was created by our instructors so if you have any questions about anything don’t hesitate to email us or leave a comment below.


Another handy reference tool is Tim Warner’s Glossary of IT Certification Terms which will help you master the important certification acronyms. This is also a good place to start getting used to all of the acronyms that flood the IT field. What are we at now, a million or something?

And if you’re totally new to the IT field and you’ve never taken an exam before check out Tim’s helpful video on how to register for an IT exam:

A great way to stay up to date on certification and exam information is through blogs and sites that focus on nothing else by that. Here are my favorites for keeping up with exam and certification news and updates:
