Learn Virtualization & Get Certified Without Spending a Dime!

From reading all of your New Year’s Resolutions it seems that the majority of you resolve to learn and get certified in 2009.

Well, how would you like to get a chance to do it for free?

Step 1: Learn Virtualization — For Free!

We’re giving away a free Microsoft eLearning course Collection 6319: Configuring Hyper-V in Windows Server 2008 (valued at $159) to the first 500 people that email me with a link to their favorite Train Signal Training article.

Here’s what you have to do:

Send your email to contest@trainsignal.com with the word Virtualization in the subject line and include:

• your name
• your email address
• a link to one of your favorite Train Signal Training articles

Please note: this promotion is only valid in the U.S.

Here’s how you can redeem your free eLearning course on Configuring Hyper-V in Windows Server 2008:

1. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/learning/access

2. Enter the access code you receive in your email (the code is case sensitive)

Read the license agreement and check the box next to I have read and accept the End User License Agreement.

Click Enter.

3. You will be prompted to sign-in with your Hotmail or MSN account to Windows Live ID (this will be the username and password you will use to access the site each time you log in)

4. If this is the first time you’re using Microsoft Learning, you will need to fill out the information in the form and click Continue at the bottom:

5. Next click on My Learning to see the list of available courses:

6. Here you can click on a course title to launch the e-learning offering. The 6319 Collection includes 5 courses numbered 6320 — 6324 that you can see below:

7. Once you click on one of the titles you will see the course description along with an overview, course details, and system requirements tabs that you can read before starting

There’s actually a Test your computer’s capabilities link under the System Requirements tab which you should click on to make sure your computer is properly configured to access virtual labs

You can begin training by clicking on the individual lessons under the Course Description tab

When you want to return to the site you can use this link http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mylearning and sign in using your Hotmail or MSN account.

Then just click on “My Learning” to access the content and continue your learning path.

If you experience problems accessing the e-learning course or virtual labs, please contact Microsoft’s Regional Service Center at: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/support/worldsites.mspx

Step 2: Get Certified — For Free!

Once you have completed the 6319 eLearning course and you’re ready to take your 70-652 TS: Windows Server Virtualization, Configuring Exam email me again to receive your exam voucher.

Please include the words Virtualization Exam in the subject line and your name and email address in the email.

Please Note: Exam vouchers will be given out on a first come first serve basis until they’re all gone. You are NOT guaranteed a free exam voucher just because you get a free eLearning course. The exam vouchers will include an expiration date.

Step 3: Enjoy — Also Free!
