Thanks Simon!

To answer your question, I became an expert in PowerPoint because I had PowerPoint on my computer and not Keynote. Chicago is more of a PC/MS Office town, though there are a few exceptions. And as a former teacher in the public school systems, we always had a mix between Mac and PC; however, the MS Office suite was standard in most classrooms. So, the better time investment it seemed (at the time) was to learn PowerPoint.

Before making the course I did do a fair amount of research, some of which I conducted on Twitter. It does seem that a lot more people prefer Keynote to PowerPoint (or at least the Keynote people are more vocal/text-y about it). Honestly though, I've never taken Keynote for a test drive.

I'm glad to see someone enthusiastic about PowerPoint. Like you, we regard it as simply a tool, with which it's possible to create great presentations although it's frighteningly easy to create bad ones too.....!

One thing I've never understood about PowerPoint though, is why the default font is just about the worst one for projecting! :)

Our training tends to shy away from showing people which buttons to push, more towards the principles of good design, so that they can design equally well in PowerPoint, Impress or Keynote if that's what the prefer to do - many people find Keynote a better all round package so I'm really curious as to why you decided to become an expert in PowerPoint, specifically......

Best wishes.... Simon
