It has come to my attention that because of an energy law passed by the U.S. Congress back in 2005, this year Daylight Savings Time will begin 3 weeks early and last a week longer in the United States and Canada.

It means it’s time to plan a patch rollout across your Windows Environment. This will affect all levels of the Microsoft OS’s from Client, Server, Mobile, Outlook, Exchange, the whole line of products prior to Windows Vista, Exchange 2007 and Office 2007.
By March 11th this year, you will want to have your systems all patched or you will find systems off by one hour. For more details and to get the patches for XP SP2 and Windows 2000, go here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/timezone/dst2007.mspx
Patches for Outlook 2003, Exchange 2003 and Sharepoint 2.0 will all be available sometime in January.
